Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton looks exhausted through most of this six-episode series.

He’s in New York City essentially running a secret errand while entertaining his three kids, when the situation morphs into something more dangerous and complicated. He meets his biggest fan, Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), and reluctantly winds up as her mentor.

This series is small in scope and takes place in just about one week. Filled with quirky characters and comic dialogue, this is a nice and refreshing way to close out 2021 for Marvel.

And by the time we finish our holiday errands, aren’t we pretty worn out as well? Can we relate to Clint just a little bit?

I won’t get into the plot as it would spoil the outcome, but the gist is that a couple of MCU characters are introduced for future appearances, and Kate Bishop is positioned as the new Hawkeye. If you don’t like Hailee Steinfeld one bit, you won’t like this series. Her presence permeates the story from start to finish.

I liked this more than I thought I would, and I would definitely recommend it. But, I’m hoping that Moon Knight is different in tone and characterization, and explore a different corner of the MCU. I don’t need to see two series like Hawkeye back to back.
